Trust me on this one: you want to find 15 minutes out of your day to watch the clip below.

It's motor sport pornography, the highs and lows of cars and bikes pushing it to and beyond the limit. The shots are sexy, the machines are part of the reason we fell in love with the sport, and the memories that go along with each clip? Wow.

If you're not a little teary-eyed at the end, I don't think we can be friends any more.

Not that I needed any reminding, but this is why I LOVE our sport. It's ruined me for other sports. I sometimes wonder why i've stood in fields, forests, airfields, paid hundreds of pounds to get wet (last weekend) and get up early to get even wetter. Got up at 3 in the morning etc etc, yet this reminds me why I keep coming back.

Thanks for the link!

It's a great video, isn't it? Much as we all know we love the sport, I don't think it ever hurts to have a reminder of just why we fell in love in the first place.

I actually forget that motorsport is a sport, and that I am a sports fan/journalist, even though the clue is in the name. I just think of myself as a racefan, and as someone who is entranced by the combination of skill, technology, politics, and passion that makes the races happen.

Totally understand your predicament. You do seem to be able to step back and let the fan out though and that will serve you well. I love it when guys like DC suddenly find their inner love for the sport and end up sounding like the rest of us!!

I always thought the quote (I think it was Frank Williams) that went something like "F1 is a sport between 1-3pm on Sundays, the rest of the time it's business" was very sharp. When you actually see the guys on track in a GP, its *definitley* a sport as far as I can see.

I hope that the powers that be offer the creator of those vids a job rather than the more likely "ban it" option. That kind of eye for a shot is worth nuturing.

Talking of reminding us of the sport we love, I was sat at Vale/Club at the BGP and despite being a regular nowadays, watching the cars attack the "line" on pit entry blew my mind - I am *so* aware of what F1 cars are capable of, yet seeing that just reminded me of the sheer awesomeness of it all. It was all velocity, glowing discs, farting exhausts and absolute precision. Just wonderful.

See? Totally lost case, even after 20 years of being a motorsport nut...

See, that's what I love so much about this sport - the way people are so passionate about it, but can fall back in love with it all over again despite never having fallen out of love just because it strikes you anew just how skillful and impressive both man and machine can be.

It really is all about the passion, isn't it?
